A community-friendly, international-standard research clinic

PIMAN Clinic began operations on 2 April 2008 at Nimman Soi 13, in central Chiang Mai. The location was readily accessible to the clinic’s target populations. In its early years, PIMAN Clinic conducted research among men who have sex with men and transgender women. Focus-group discussions helped the research team understand the type of clinic and location these communities wanted. The team therefore sought a site that was easy to reach and convenient for both travel and access to services.
