Kanokwan Kulprachakarn, PhD. received a research fund from the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility, University of Minnesota to conduct the study on Cardiovascular disease risk factors among transgender women in Thailand. Currently, there are more transgender women using sex hormones which may have side effects, leading to thromboembolism and coronary artery disease.This research study will examine risk factors of coronary artery disease among transgender women in Chiang Mai who have taken these hormones.
